3132KWH-1500KW Solution (Taiwan)
Project Description
This project delivers a 3.132MWh / 1.5MW grid-connected battery energy storage system (BESS) installed in Taiwan, designed for industrial and commercial facilities requiring high-reliability power supply with seamless backup capability.
The system comprises six (6) TAODYAN 522kWh / 250kW liquid-cooled BESS units, integrated through a dedicated combiner cabinet equipped with an embedded ESTS (Energy Storage Transfer Switch) uninterruptible power supply module. This architecture enables ultra-fast switching from grid power to battery backup within 20 milliseconds — ensuring zero-downtime protection for critical loads.

⚡ Key Innovation: Integrated Combiner Cabinet with UPS
Unlike conventional BESS deployments that require separate ATS/UPS equipment, this solution features a purpose-built combiner cabinet (汇流柜) that aggregates all six battery strings while housing an integrated ESTS transfer switch module. The ESTS provides dual 500kW ports (load side & grid side) at 400V AC, enabling instantaneous (<20ms) failover when grid anomalies are detected — faster than standard UPS systems and without the need for additional inverter synchronization.
- Grid-Tied Operation: Six 250kW inverters operate in parallel, feeding up to 1.5MW into the facility’s 400V bus for peak shaving, load shifting, and demand charge management.
- Seamless Backup: Upon grid failure or voltage excursion, the ESTS transfer switch isolates the grid and connects battery output to critical loads within 20ms — well within IT equipment ride-through tolerance.
- Liquid-Cooled LFP Battery: Each 522kWh unit uses 314Ah LFP cells in a 2P260S configuration (832V nominal), liquid-cooled for consistent thermal performance in Taiwan’s subtropical climate (-25°C to 55°C operating range).
- Outdoor Installation: IP54-rated cabinets installed outdoors on concrete plinth, minimizing HVAC space requirements and reducing civil works cost.
- Scalable Architecture: Modular design allows future expansion by adding more 522kWh/250kW units and extending the combiner cabinet.
